If you're planning a trip to Maui, there are plenty of things to add to your bucket list. Here are a few of ours:
Drive the Road to Hana – a scenic drive with stunning views of waterfalls, beaches, and lush greenery.
Enjoy warm, fresh baked banana bread on the Road to Hana.
Visit Waianapanapa's black sand beach.
Grab photos and take in the rainforest energy of Pipiwai Trail's bamboo forest – one of Maui's most Instagrammable spots!
Take an easy hike and dip in the pools at Twin Falls Farm.
Snorkeling or scuba diving in Molokini Crater, an underwater volcano with crystal-clear waters and diverse marine life.
Do a night snorkeling tour to see totally different marine life than during the day.
For adventure seekers, hiking to the summit of Haleakala, a dormant volcano, to catch the sunrise is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
If you're not up for an early morning, pack a picnic and have dinner for Haleakala sunset.
Get your sweat on when hiking Lahaina Pali Trail for incredible views and a great workout (be sure to go first thing in the morning before the sun becomes too intense!). Updated after the Lahaina + Kula fires on August 8, 2023: at this time we recommend only hiking the Wailuku side of the Lahaina Pali Trail to avoid venturing into Lahaina side.
Take a surfing lesson in Kihei.
Check out the small boutiques in Paia.
Watch surfers catching big waves at Ho'okipa Beach – and see some honu (Hawaiian green sea turtles) while you're at it!
Take a sunset cruise with one of the many charters from Maalaea Harbor.
Volunteer with a local organization or participate in a beach clean up to care for Maui's flora, fauna and beaches.
Take a class to make lei or another traditional art.
Don't forget to indulge in ono Hawaiian grindz, such as poke bowls and shaved ice, in one of our many idyllic small towns or check out one of many locally owned food trucks!
Maui is a paradise with endless opportunities for exploration and relaxation. Head over to our Instagram and tell us your Maui bucket list additions!
